I had consulted with 2 other Plastic Surgeons in my area, before traveling the distance of 12 hours round trip to consult with Dr. Don Revis, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I got the chance to speak extensively with his nurse Suzanne over the phone before meeting him in person. I had so many questions, and I wanted to *really* be sure before setting off for my 12 hour journey to his office. Little did I know how much meeting him changed my Life.
I was told a different theory at every consult I had. The PS's wanted to do more of the talking than I, which was okay to an extent but I sure had a slew of question's (3 pages long). By the time my #2 consult was over with, I unlocked my car to get inside and I just couldn't hold back the tears anymore, I was overwhelmed with grief because what these "other" surgeons were telling me is NOT what I wanted to hear as far as the Look I WANTED. I gave my consulting process a full month break to hopefully re-coup from what the other surgeons were telling me.
I finally found Dr. Revis!!!! I checked out his credentials - got the chance to correspond with two of his patients via the internet & phone, and that was a breath of fresh air. I hope I can explain this in a way you can understand, I’m not good at words, but that consultation I had with Dr. Revis changed me, showed me there ARE great doctors out there that have a heart and WANT to please and be attentive to their patients. Dr. Revis let ME talk and ask as MANY questions as I wanted. He then answered EVERY email in a timely fashion- very quickly.
He is a very soft-spoken gentleman who always has a smile on his face and is glad to see you. He is very concerned with your thoughts and your input more so then any other doctor I've met. For some reason after leaving the consult with him, I knew he was the doctor I wanted to perform surgery on me. I went over galleries of pictures of patients he has done, and was impressed very much. I also loved his idea of using the LMA for anesthesia. He doesn't feel BA patients "must" be intubated with general for this procedure, so the LMA was a BREEZE.
Everything from the minute I walked into the Surgery Center to the minute he called me later that night to check on me in my hotel went more smoothly than I ever imagined- Was I dreaming? Am I supposed to feel this good after such a procedure?
He is proof that if you find an excellent surgeon your post-op recovery may not be so bad, although I am aware this varies with everybody. I liked SO many things about Dr. Revis I could keep you reading for hours literally. I hope after you read this & do your research as I’ve done you will find a way to have a consult with Dr. Revis, they are free. It was the BEST consult I have ever gotten. I would highly recommend him to ANYBODY.
I can't believe the breasts he blessed me with, they are better then I ever imagined thanks to his skill. He fulfilled every dream I had about "My dream breasts." What I envisioned that I wanted - he delivered. I will forever be grateful for finding Dr. Revis. I will be sad when my post-op appointments are over with, I WILL MISS HIM and his Staff. I could NOT be happier with a surgeon or my breasts, thanks to Dr. Don Revis, Jr.

I had always wanted to go larger as there was no website like this around when I first choose to have breast augmentation to tell me how to choose size. However, I decided I would wait as long as I could or until something happened that I would need another surgery anyway. After 7.5 years my right saline implant deflated.
The key to the best possible outcome is choosing the right surgeon. This time I am undoubtedly at an advantage knowing many surgeons from coast to coast.
I was in the shower when I noticed my right implant was probably about 75-80% deflated. It completely deflated within 36 hours. I wasn't too concerned as there is no harm in a saline implant rupturing. However, you should seek a redo as soon as possible as the pocket begins to close. It was a little over 3 months before I was able to have surgery, and Dr. Revis did state the pocket was about 50% closed at that time. I was excited at the prospect of now getting the size and type implants I wanted as the high profiles were not available when I first had surgery and I feel for most women like myself (thin with a small ribcage) they are a much better implant.
I also qualified for silicone which I decided to do to avoid a future 24/hr deflation. Am I glad I did! They are awesome! They feel real. My salines were much firmer. My old 250 o/f to 275 barely made me a C cup so I knew I wanted to go up a size to 450cc and since 275 took me up almost 2 sizes, I knew I needed to add at least another 150cc to gain an additional cup size and then I added another 25cc just to be sure! I wanted to see a difference in size. I used to wear push-up bras even with my first set of implants, now I am that size in clothes w/o the push bras. I recommend going under the muscle whenever possible for several reasons.
Most all major manufacturer implants do come with a lifetime warranty so this helped with the cost of replacing the implants (I replaced both for reasons above).

I had surgery Friday, August 31, 2001 at Imperial Point Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale. I stayed overnight and was released the next morning. I had little discomfort, but it really was not that big of a deal. Nothing compared to my open RNY last year. And, not only did I have the typical hip-to-hip tummy tuck, I was also cut vertically as well. So, he cut out the old RNY scar, cut me down the middle, around the belly button, to the bikini line, and hip-to-hip. I know it sounds like a lot, which it is, but I’m serious, it was nothing compared to last year! I suppose because this was all on the “surface” and not really internal.
I also had my breasts lifted at the same time. Believe it or not, they did not hurt at all! He cut around the nipple on each and removed the redundant skin. Now, they don’t look like they did when I was 20, because I did not want an implant. At a size 4, and I am already a full C cup, I have a hard enough time shopping for clothes as it is. I sure don’t want to be any bigger! They do, however, look much, much better. They don’t point south anymore!
I was only out of work for a week, and I have been wearing the special garment he ordered for me, and I woke up with it on postop. Speaking of postop, last year for my RNY surgery, I barely recall the postop period and don’t really remember anything except waking up in my room. This was WAY different. I was still under general anesthesia for four and a half hours, but I was wide awake in the OR, thanking Dr. Revis and the anesthesiologist. I was wide awake and talking to the nurse in recovery, and was wide awake except for about a half hour catnap all day Friday in my room. The doctor just shook his head and couldn’t believe I wasn’t sleeping. A lot of it, of course, has to do with the fact that I am much healthier now than I was last year and it wasn’t as risky going under as it was last year with my excess weight.
I still have some swelling of course, and will for quite some time. My 6’s are loose and my 4’s are snug from the swelling, so I can’t wait to see what my final result will be. I am so thrilled I bit the bullet and spent the money to do it. I’ve never made a financial investment that’s had more satisfaction than this one!!!
I can't rave about him enough. His credentials are impeccable, his chair-side manner is superb, and his skills speak for themselves. He explains things in "crayola" so everyone can understand and him and his office are a "class act". They sent me flowers when I was home recuperating, they sent my husband and I a Christmas card at the holidays, etc. I honestly can't say enough about him and his staff. If you want quality and you only want the best, he's it!
