About Dr. Vito C Quatela

Located at the Quatela Center for Plastic Surgery in Rochester, NY, Dr. Vito Quatela specializes exclusively in facial plastic surgery. Dr. Quatela, a recognized leader in the field of aesthetic surgery, is Board Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (ABO). It is Dr. Quatela's quest to improve people's lives by aesthetically enhancing their appearance and increasing their confidence and self assurance that has lead him to develop a comprehensive practice, which extends beyond traditional facial plastic surgery by offering computer generated facial analysis, non-surgical treatments, and healthy skin care program at Q- the Medical Spa at Lindsay House and also offering hair restoration via micro follicular unit grafting (hair transplant) at The Quatela Center for Hair Restoration, both located at the Lindsay House. Dr. Quatela, with over 19 years of hair restoration experience, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and an active member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS) and the American Hair Loss Council. In addition, Dr. Vito Quatela also operates LInden Oaks Surgical Center, an ambulatory surgical center, located at the Linden Oaks Medical Campus at 10 Hagen Drive in Rochester, NY.
Dr. Quatela's commitment to the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) mission to "promote the highest quality facial plastic surgery through education, dissemination of professional information and the establishment of professional standards" has lead him to serve in several positions, over the years, including: Board of Directors; Executive Committee; Vice President for Education; Board of Governors; Eastern Regional Vice President; Craniofacial Committee; and Credentials Committee. And to be involved in the AAFPRS "Face to Face" national domestic violence project. Dr. Quatela currently serves AAFPRS as Senior Advisor on the "Membership/Residency Relations Committee" and on the "Fellowship Review Committee". He also serves annually as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS) certification examinations. In September 2006, Dr. Quatela was honored to be elected as president to the AAFPRS for the 2007-2008 term. As president, he represented over 3,000 facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons throughout the United States. The AAFPRS is a National Medical Specialty Society of the American Medical Association and holds official seats in both the AMA House of Delegates and the American College of Surgeons board of governors.
Dr. Quatela has been acknowledged as a distinguished educator, evidenced by his many national and international Professorships and Lectureships. His expertise and consultation in the field of facial plastic surgery is sought after by national advisories and health councils; research review committees; universities; and health & science agencies both nationally and internationally. He has traveled the U.S. extensively for this reason and has been honored to travel abroad for international lectureships to: the IFFPSS (International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies) at the European Rhinologic Society in Italy; the Mexican National Congress of Otolaryngology and the 55 th National Congress of SMORL in Mexico; the Columbia Society of Facial Plastic Surgery & Rhinology in Bogot�, Columbia; the Otorhinolaryngology Society and the Istanbul University Cerrahpasa School of Medicine in Turkey; the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery in London, England; as well as other international societies in Australia and Argentina.
Media exposure includes Dr. Quatela's guest speaker presentation on MSNBC and numerous printed publications. He has been published in multiple medical journals and publications to include: Facial Plastic Surgery; Operative Techniques in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery; Open Structure Rhinoplasty; Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Head and Neck; Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery; and Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America. In addition, Dr. Quatela's historical preservation of the Lindsay House has been featured on HGTV's "Restore America".
Vito Quatela attended the University of Rochester as an undergraduate and Northwestern University, where he earned his medical degree. He served Facial Plastic Fellowships at Tulane and Oregon Health Science Universities. Dr. Quatela currently serves as Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Rochester Otolaryngology Department and fulfills the role of preceptor for an annual AAFPRS Fellowship.
His compassion for others, especially children, is demonstrated by the formation of HUGS (Help Us Give Smiles Foundation, Inc. in 2003. HUGS supports an annual Medical Mission for children in Quito, Ecuador. Dr. Quatela's philosophy that "every human being has a fundamental right to the opportunity to grow and develop socially and intellectually without being ostracized or rejected due to physical abnormality" has led him to head the multi-specialty team of experts that provide medical care to children and adolescents suffering from deformity or conditions that are remedied or alleviated through plastic surgery. Through the labors of he and his medical team, children are provided the opportunity to develop into strong, secure and responsible human beings free from their congenital and other conditions. Dr. Quatela also serves locally on the board of CURE Childhood Cancer Association.
With a deep commitment to family and tradition, Dr. Quatela resides with his wife and three children in Rochester, NY. in his spare time, Vito is a fly fisherman, wine collector, and audiophile.
