About Dr. C. Edwin Pittman

Dr. Ed Pittman spent his formative years in Athens, Georgia.

After completing studies at Athens Academy and the University of Georgia, Dr. Ed Pittman attended the Medical College of Georgia followed by his General Surgery residency at Wake Forest University Medical Center.

Dr. Pittman then completed his plastic surgery residency at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas where he was later appointed an assistant professorship in plastic surgery. In addition to teaching, Dr. Pittman has also written several plastic surgery articles.

After becoming a board certified plastic surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Pittman co-founded his Athens private plastic surgery practice in 1992 and later Pittman Plastic Surgery, P.C. in 2001. To ensure his patients optimal plastic surgery results, Dr. Pittman's practice planned and constructed the Athens and Jefferson community's largest AAAHC accredited outpatient surgery facility for cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

He continues to offer the best patient care available by maintaining memberships with The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Georgia Society of Plastic Surgeons. Exemplifying his commitment to patient safety, Dr. Pittman has also served as Chief of Surgery and President of the Medical Staff at Athens Regional Medical Center and on the Executive Committee at St. Mary's Hospital.
