About the Surgeon
Dr. Myckatyn has been a plastic surgeon for over 5 years. He is board certified both by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
At West County Plastic Surgeons of Washington University, Dr. Myckatyn focuses on all areas of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, with specialization in facial cosmetic surgery, breast and body cosmetic surgery, post-bariatric body contouring surgery, breast reduction surgery, and breast reconstruction surgery.
As an Assistant Professor at Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Myckatyn is responsible for educating the next generation of cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons. He is also responsible for training an average of five residents in plastic surgery annually.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Dr. Myckatyn earned his doctorate of medicine at the University of British Columbia.
He is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed research articles, numerous textbook chapters, and has been a featured presenter at international conferences.
Most recently, Dr. Myckatyn has been noted as one of 2008's "Best Doctors in St. Louis" and "Best Doctors in America" by Best Doctors, Inc. He is the tenth recipient of the prestigious "John E. Hoopes Academic Scholar" award from the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (2006-2008). He was also the first plastic surgeon to be presented the "C. James Carrico Faculty Research Fellowship" award from the American College of Surgeons.
