About the Surgeon
Dr. Zuniga began his surgical career in 1987 and is committed to providing his patients with natural appearing results that surpass their expectations. His philosophy is to first listen to the patient to understand and appreciate their concerns and then provide a customized treatment plan that is realistic, yet state of the art.
Dr. Zuniga graduated cum laude from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He graduated cum laude from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska and completed his general surgery internship at St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center in San Francisco, California where he was named surgical intern of the year. He completed his general surgery training at the University of California San Francisco Fresno - Central San Joaquin Valley Medical Education Program.
Following five years of general surgery training, he completed a three-year plastic surgery residency at St. Francis Memorial Hospital and the Bothin Burn Center in San Francisco, California. During his training, he spent six months at the world renowned Bunke Clinic, perfecting skills in microvascular surgery.
Dr. Zuniga is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is active with the California Medical Association and the Fresno-Madera Medical Society.
