About the Surgeon
From a young age, Dr. Robert Bledsoe was fascinated with the human body and how intricately it all worked together. In his youth, he often volunteered in emergency rooms in various local facilities. And one day an experience sealed his destiny in medicine. "A man came into the ER with an arm that was very badly mangled and cut up," said Dr. Bledsoe. "They called in a plastic surgeon and when he was finished, the arm looked virtually normal. It was amazing."
Dr. Bledsoe served in the United States Marine Corps from 1973 to 1975. He received two bachelor's degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in 1978 and his medical degree from the University of Texas, Houston in 1983. He performed his residency in general surgery and completed a second one in plastic surgery at the University of California at Irvine. Dr. Bledsoe also completed a fellowship in plastic surgery in Phoenix, AZ. before returning to Texas and establishing his practice in Grapevine in 1990. Since then, he has participated in medical missionary trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic as a reconstructive surgeon.
Experience Makes the Difference
Dr. Bledsoe is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Dallas County Medical Society and the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons.
