About the Surgeon
At Plastic & Hand Surgical Associates, the importance of a strong, personal relationship between patient and physician is understood and every effort is made to maintain the individuality of that relationship. We want you to feel comfortable with your care. Please be aware that our staff is always happy to discuss your concerns and suggestions.
Our clinical staff includes registered occupational therapists, x-ray technicians, registered nurses, surgical technicians, nurse practitioners and a physician assistant.
Dr. Attwood is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is also certified as having added qualifications in surgery of the hand. Dr. Attwood is director of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Maine Medical Center. He also is on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and serves as a clinical associate professor at Maine Medical Center for the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Attwood graduated from St. Michael's College and Dartmouth Medical School. He completed his general surgery residency at Maine Medical Center and his residency in plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, with training in microvascular surgery. Dr. Attwood joined Plastic & Hand Surgical Associates in 1986.
