David R. Alfonso, MD

About the Doctor

After growing up in Akron, Ohio, Dr. Alfonso graduated from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 2002. During medical school he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha the medical honor society and received the Douglas M. Evans, MD Award for outstanding clinical work in surgery.

He spent five years in the combined general surgery/plastic surgery residency program through The Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center/Michigan State University, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He then completed a fellowship in cosmetic surgery at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City, where he specialized in facial cosmetic surgery and breast surgery.

Dr. David Alfonso was a welcome addition to Plastic Surgery Associates (PSA) in July of 2008. He is well versed on the latest procedural advances and state-of-the-art surgical equipment. He builds caring professional relationships with his patients based on communication and sensitivity. He is compassionate, understanding and committed to excellence.

Dr. Alfonso has made numerous professional presentations and authored several articles on plastic surgery, including cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, cosmetic eyelid surgery, and facial trauma.
