About the Surgeon
With 23 years of surgical experience, Dr. Askren is completely dedicated to the art of plastic surgery. He finds the artistic challenge most rewarding, and strives to provide naturally beautiful results to all of his patients. Dr. Askren delivers a fair presentation of both surgical and non-surgical options for management of aesthetic concerns, so patients are able to make an informed decision that best suits their ultimate objective. His calm, yet energetic tone reveals his enthusiasm while putting patients instantly at ease.
Dr. Askren graduated cum laude from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He received his Master of Science degree there as well, studying laser applications in opthalmology. After attending medical school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Askren completed his General Surgery Internship at Emory University. Following six years of surgical training at The University of California San Francisco Fresno - Central San Joaquin Valley Medical Education Program, he completed a residency in plastic surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Dr. Askren is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the California Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Locally, and active member of the California Medical Association, and is active in the Fresno-Madera Medical Society.
