The Center for Special Surgery opened its doors in the spring of 1998. Since then, it has provided over 15,000 patients a place to undergo out- patient surgery in a safe and secure environment. This clean, modern facility is fully accredited by the AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) and Medicare. The nursing care is provided by a team of compassionate Registered Nurses, with up-to-date credentials in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and additional CAPA certification (Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse). These additional certifications represent an achievement of a standard beyond licensure for specialty nursing. Anesthesia services are provided by only board certified anesthesiologists, presently contracted through Jersey Shore University Hospital.
